The Minister of Higher Education honors Mansoura University for its advancement in the Arab Ranking for universities (ARU)

The university has achieved great success in the first edition of the ranking, which is issued for the first time in cooperation between the Association of Arab Universities, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils.

Mansoura University came in the 3rd place among the 28 Egyptian universities participating in the ranking, and 5th in the Arab world at the level of Arab universities.

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, delegated Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, to receive the university’s certificate of honor.

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater stressed the university’s interest in implementing the mandates of the political leadership to raise the university’s international ranking, in addition to the university’s endeavor to implement the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education, indicating that this ranking will contribute to strengthening the position of Arab universities in international rankings, and enhancing the competitiveness of Arab universities as well.

He added that the university was included in the first version of the Arab Ranking for Universities because it met the basic criteria that universities must meet to be included in the ranking, which is that it be an educational and research university, including the main performance indicator, which is teaching and learning, the scientific research index, the creativity, leadership and innovation index, and the index of International and local cooperation and community service.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash said that the university is making significant strides in the ranking file in order to achieve the university’s mission and in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in terms of adopting indicators of educational quality, excellence and global competition, increasing interest in scientific research in Egypt, and encouraging researchers to publish scientifically, which contribute to improving the university’s ranking regionally and internationally.

The number of universities that submitted for evaluation reached 208, of which 115 universities were included in the ranking, representing 16 countries out of a total of 22 participating Arab countries. These countries were ranked according to the number of universities applying as follows: Egypt “28”, Iraq “19”, Jordan "18", Yemen "10", Palestine "8", Libya "8", Saudi Arabia "7", Tunisia "4", Syria "3", United Arab Emirates "2", Morocco "2", Lebanon "2". », Bahrain «1», Algeria «1», Somalia «1», Kuwait «1».
