Mansoura University and the Royal Veterinary College, University of London sign a memorandum of understanding in preparation for the establishment of an international bachelor’s program

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Abdel Basset, President of Mansoura University, has received today, (Tuesday, February 22/02/2022), visitors from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), University of London, UK, to sign a memorandum of understanding between Mansoura University and the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), to a enable a discussion about the possibilities of establishing an international program for the bachelor’s level in the discipline of veterinary medicine. The preparation of detailed agreements for this program is currently under evaluation, based on a detailed study of the colleges’ regulations in the two universities.
This came in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumy, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo El-Ashmawy, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Sahar Abd El Rahman, Coordinator of the Collaboration, and from the RVC side, Prof. Dr. Jill Maddison, Director of CPD at the Royal Veterinary College, Dr. Michael Hewetson, Senior Lecturer in Equine Internal Medicine, and Mrs. Nina Davies, Director of International Engagement at the RVC and Chair of the Global Strategy Group.
The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) is one of the oldest faculties of veterinary medicine, not only in England or Europe, but also globally, and it currently ranks first all over the world in the field of veterinary medicine. The memorandum of understanding signed between the two universities emphasized collaboration to support Mansoura to establish an international degree for the bachelor's level, as well as opening the door for the exchange of faculty members and students and the collaboration of the two universities in conferences, seminars and scientific research. This collaboration comes within the framework of seeking to internationalize education and improve the efficiency of graduates in line with international work requirements and to achieve Egypt's 2030 vision.
From her side, Prof. Jill Maddison expressed her happiness at being in a distinguished educational edifice such as Mansoura University, which has a prestigious reputation and ranking in many scientific disciplines and has the modern educational and training capabilities necessary to qualify its students with high efficiency.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. / Ashraf Mohamed Abdel Basset, has confirmed that the university administration overcomes any difficulties and always seeks to provide international programs with major international universities, which extend to invest this education in the neighboring countries in the Middle East and North Africa, in order to raise the efficiency of its graduates. To keep pace with global developments and qualify them to compete in the labor market locally and globally. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia has confirmed that the university always seeks to improve education and continuous training to qualify students and graduates through serious international partnerships in line with the sustainable development plan and to achieve a distinguished level of education and vocational training on a global level. Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo Al-Ashmawy has emphasized that the veterinary sector seeks to have unified curricula and there will be an approved place for the exams to practice the profession of veterinary medicine, which considers collaboration with the Royal Veterinary College as one of the most important global models to be followed in this new direction of Veterinary education in Egypt and the establishment of programs that would modernize and develop veterinary medicine in Egypt.
