With the Participation of Students from 46 Nationalities, Mansoura University Merges the Arab, Asian and African Cultures with the Egyptian one at “Peoples’ Day”
On Thursday 16th March 2023, International Students Administration at Mansoura University organized a ceremony of “Peoples’ Day” for International students, entitled “Mansoura University Gathers the Peoples of the World”. It was held at the Coverage Hall, Olympic Village, with the participation of cultural attachés, and consuls who represent 46 nationalities from Arab, African and Asian countries (of International Students at the University in undergraduate and postgraduate levels).
The attendees were: Prof. Cherif Yousef Khater-President of Mansoura University, Prof. Mohamed Attia ElBayoumy- Vice-President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, the deans and vice-deans of various faculties, Mr/ Mohamed Abdullatif- General Trustee of the University, Mr/ Saad AbdelWahab- Assistant Trustee, Dr. Ahmed Anwar ElAdl- General Supervisor of International Students Administration, Mrs. Sahar ElEraky- Director of International Students Administration.
This ceremony was organized with the participation of the cultural attachés and consuls of Arab, Asian, and African countries as follows: Dr. Fahd AlSebeiy- Deputy Military Attaché of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. AbdelRahman AlRagaan- The Cultural Attaché of Kuwait, Dr. Mohamed AlAbady- The Cultural Counselor of Yemen, Dr. Ismail AlHady Ebeid- The Cultural Attaché of Libya- Dr. Abdullah AlHararsha- The Cultural Attaché of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordon, Dr. Shehab AlSady- The Cultural Attaché of Oman, Dr. Ibrahim Aslan- The Cultural Attaché of Turkey, Dr/ Thamer Attab- Deputy Consul of Iraq, Mr. Selim AlTalouly- Responsible of University’s Affairs and Students’ Activities at the Embassy of Palestine.
Prof. Cherif Khater confirmed that this day is a special one that aims to recognize the heritages of peoples of the world and how the peoples developed. He noted that Mansoura University is one of important and ancient universities, and its outstanding development in scientific, research and social fields as it received the first place in Government Excellence Award thanks to the Faculty of Engineering. Thus, International students are keen to join it. Besides, it is the only university that received the institutional accreditation. He confirmed the importance of organizing the peoples’ day at the University to achieve the cultural diversity and exchange cultures among the participants of students. He noted that Mansoura University is still doing its role and its scientific and national responsibilities to convey a loving message for all peoples of all countries. He asserted that Mansoura University aims to merge the Arab, Asian and African cultures with the Egyptian one in order to create a kind of unity and connection. He added that International students are capable of conveying the originality and authenticity of peoples through this special day. Further, this day was organized in order to revive the historical origins of people and recognize their heritage to exchange acquaintance among the students.
From his part, Dr. Ahmed ElAdl noted that Mansoura University was and still the leading University and one of the most important universities as it cares of its students, and created a number of programs in order to cope with the labour market. Besides, he added that Mansoura University received the first places in digital transformation and various services. Further, International Students Administration was keen on presenting all types of care for International Students form different nationalities.
The events of the day included: presentations of Peoples’ heritage at “The Heritage Tent”, and artistic and heritage presentations of peoples presented by the students of the following nationalities: (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia- Bahrain- Yemen- Sudan- Malaysia- Jordon- Turkey- Palestine- Pakistan- Syria- Iraq- Mauritania- Libya- Somalia – Kuwait- Oman- UAE). In addition to, there were Egyptian artistic program, and the grand Egyptian Museum Show with the voice of Dr. Zahy Hawas. The events were concluded by operetta, “Egypt is Nearby”.
