Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof Ashraf Sobhy- Minister of Youth and Sports, Prof. Elsayed Kandeel- President of Helwan University, and Dr. Sobhy Hasanein- Chairman of Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities.

In the framework of Mansoura University’s vision to build the characters of its students in order to promote the definition of sport. This vision aims at providing the students with all preparations and places of exercising activities as well as preparing them with advanced level of fitness to qualify them to participate in various local and international competitions.

It is noteworthy that the students of the Sport Activity Administration at the General Administration for Students’ Welfare at the University participated with their colleagues from 27 public and private Universities in the events of Egyptian Universities Championship for taekwondo.

The events of the participation were held under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Yousef Khater-President of the University, and Leadership of Prof. Mohamed Attia Elbayoumy- Vice-President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs. The student/ Mariam Ahmed Mohamed from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine won the silver medal in weight of 53 kg, and the student/ Mostafa Ahmed Ramadan from the Faculty of Arts won the Bronze medal in weight of 87 kg.

The events of the competition were organized by the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities with collaboration with Helwan University. The participants of female and male students were 230 ones from the following universities: (Aswan-Asiut- BUE-BUC-Higher Ministry- Delta for Science and Technology- Russian University- Zagazig- Alexandria University- Tanta- AlAlmein- Ain Shams- Cairo- Fayoum- Kafr ElShiekh – German University- Canadian University- Egypt-Japan University for Science and Technology – Misr International University-Sadat- Helwan- 6 October-Mansoura).
