Mansoura University hosts the first introductory symposium of the Arab Administrative Development Organization on the Arab Governmental Excellence Award in its third session
Mansoura University, in cooperation with the Arab Administrative Development Organization - League of Arab States, hosted on June 18th 2023, the first introductory symposium on the Arab Government Excellence Award in its 3rd session, which was launched by the organization in cooperation with the government of the United Arab Emirates at the conference hall of Mansoura University Administration Building. In the presence of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura University, Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani - Director General of the Arab Administrative Development Organization, Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi - Vice President for Education and Students, Dr. Azzam Hussein Ermeli – Consultant to the organization who supervises the awards, Dr. Adel Al-Sun - Consultant to the organization and head of the Law, Arbitration and Public Health Group. Mr. Fahd Al-Lingawi - Team Leader of the Arab Government Excellence Award, UAE, and from Mansoura University: Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim - Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Head of the Advancement Team for the Arab Government Excellence Award, Deans and Vice Deans of the various faculties, Prof. Nisreen Shalaby - Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the University, faculty members and the Arab Excellence Team of Mansoura University
Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the visit of Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani and the delegation accompanying him, he said that Mansoura University was known as the capital of medicine in Egypt, then its brilliance increased and became the pioneer of digital transformation in Egypt and the Arab world, and the diligence and persistence of its work team continued until it became the only public university accredited in Egypt through the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation. He also reviewed the areas of distinction in the various sectors and its progress in the international rankings of universities, that led to distinction awards in government excellence competitions from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Planning. Then, the university was keen to participate strongly and effectively in the Arab Excellence Awards for the third session. It is one of its kind in the region and the largest in the Arab world in the field of development, improvement and administrative excellence.
Dr. Nasser Al-Qahtani, talked about the Arab Government Excellence Award in promoting the culture of government excellence and creating a new leadership thought in the Arab world that adopts the principles of excellence as a work method and institutional culture to bring about a quantum leap in government work and improve the services provided, he pointed out that the Arab Government Excellence Award includes 15 categories, and that the purpose of the award is to develop Arab institutions for the better, and that achieving development goals requires Arab institutions capable of excelling in their performance. He also explained that there are a large number of institutions from most Arab countries participating in this session of the award, as well as individuals, expressing his aspiration for the participation of Mansoura University in the award because this award and its launch and sponsorship aims to develop Arab institutions for the better, as achieving the goals of comprehensive development requires capable and effective Arab institutions that can contribute to achieving the objectives of the general policies of our Arab countries and our Arab institutions.
Dr. Al-Qahtani said that the award is a means of development and improvement within institutions, as it presents standards and a way for the improvement of every Arab institution that adopts the standards of the award, which are prepared with great care.
The activities of the symposium included the first introductory session when Dr. Azzam Ermeli gave a lecture on the explanation of the award, its objectives, categories, and evaluation methods. The second introductory session also included an explanation of evaluation methods, participations, and how to register on the award website, which was presented by Mr. Fahd Al-Lingawi.
Participants in the introductory session learned about the evaluation method for participation and nominations in the various categories of the award, and the roles of the coordinators of the "Arab Governmental Excellence Award" were introduced as the link with the award's management team and the Arab Administrative Development Organization.
