As part of the presidential initiative "Bidaya" for human development, the President of Mansoura University inaugurates the first employment conference for veterinarians.

Today, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, opened the first employment conference for veterinarians at Mansoura University, which is held within the activities of the Presidential Initiative “Bedaya”, in cooperation with the General Syndicate of Veterinarians under the patronage of Dr. Magdy Hassan, General Syndicate. In the Grand Conference Hall, Mansoura University Administration.

The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Maha El-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Conference Chairman, in addition to a group of committee heads, members of the Senate and House of Representatives, veterinary leaders of the Armed Forces, heads of government agencies specialized in veterinary medicines, animal and agricultural production, heads of sub-syndicates of veterinarians, heads of major international, regional and local companies in the field of veterinary economics, the Director of the Regional Agricultural Bank, and representatives of the Egyptian Drug Authority, the World Health Organization and the FAO, with extensive participation of veterinarians and new graduates from all over the country.

The President of Mansoura University thanked the Veterinarians Syndicate, Dr. Maha Al-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the companies participating in the exhibition for their active participation in this forum, as well as all members of the work team.

In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim stressed the importance of the university’s role in changing and developing the work system through the social responsibility strategy, which seeks to raise the efficiency of performance and the rate of impact on society in accordance with the university’s strategy that aims to develop the capabilities of its graduates in line with the labor market.

Dr. Magdy Hassan, Head of the Veterinary Syndicate, thanked the President of Mansoura University for the university’s cooperation and warm reception, expressing his positive aspiration to achieve the conference’s objectives and benefit a large segment of veterinarians. Organizing many similar events helps companies reach the best talents.

Dr. Magdy Hassan stressed that the presidential initiatives that focus on building the citizen and developing his capabilities and skills contribute to serving the public interest and advancing society, adding that the conference aims to establish a database for veterinary graduates, improve the unemployment rate, support companies in employing the best talents, and linking veterinarians to the labor market. It also represents an activation of the Syndicate’s role and its societal responsibility in linking graduates to the labor market through the training courses provided by the Syndicate’s Scientific Center.

For her part, Dr. Maha Al-Ashmawy expressed her happiness to organize the activities of the first employment conference for veterinarians at Mansoura University, as part of the activities of the presidential "Bidaya" initiative, with the attendance of a large number of executive and legislative bodies, representatives of the armed forces, local and international bodies, and businessmen. She stressed that the conference aims to guide and advise newly graduated veterinarians and help them obtain a job opportunity, as well as encourage employers to receive qualified veterinarians. She also added that the conference is a supportive opportunity to clarify the impact of the veterinary profession on the national economy and the One Health approach, and to activate a rational mechanism for community participation in formulating the future vision of the veterinary profession and exchanging experiences, stressing that the coming days will witness a redrawing of the future of the veterinary profession, and thanked the employment agencies that provided many job opportunities and free training for newly graduated veterinarians.

At the end of the opening ceremony, Dr. Sherif Khater presented the university shield to Dr. Magdy Hassan, the head of the Veterinarians Syndicate, for his great support for this unique and distinguished event held at Mansoura University. His Excellency then inaugurated the exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference, which includes more than 50 major local and regional companies working in the field of agricultural and veterinary economics, and provides distinguished job opportunities for young veterinarians, in addition to free specialized training programs at the highest level inside and outside Egypt.

The first day’s activities were completed with three discussion sessions. The first session included the theme of veterinary medicine and the national economy. The second session included the theme of one health and its role in the national economy. The third session dealt with veterinary medicine between industry and skill.
