The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Mansoura University had recently won a project aims at Accreditation of Molecular Biology Unit at the Central Veterinary Diagnostic Lab according to ISO 17025 specifications to be one of the international reference lab in the field of molecular diagnosis of zoonotic viral diseases using RT-PCR technology. Five avian and zoonotic viral diseases are selected which include: Swine Flu virus (H1N1), Avian Flu virus (H5N1), Newcastle disease virus (ND), Infectious Bronchitis disease virus (IB), and infectious laryngotracheitis disease virus (ilt). The project manager is Prof. Dr. Mohammed Youssef, Dean. The project is presented by Prof. Dr. Hany El-Sayed Marei, Manager of the Central lab, and Head of Cytology and Histology Department.
